Navy SEAL Robbie Stock was standing on an embankment in eastern Afghanistan in October 2010 when two grenades misfired inside a launching canister right in front of him. His left arm, miraculously still attached, looked as if someone had “run a can opener the length of [it], and pulled the sides apart.” As the weeks following surgery passed, his Navy doctors grew pessimistic, telling him the arm was dead–it had to come off. But Robbie refused to give up, and a friend put him in touch with Dr. Steven Knope in Tucson, who believes that medicine needs to work in conjunction with exercise and nutrition if a patient is to fully heal.
Read Robbie’s amazing story of resilience and determination here, which we were honored to be a part of.
